ECA Black History Month Tours – Brixton walk: Thursday 30 October, 2025 2pm

We are celebrating Black History through film, discussion and walking. ECA has teamed up with Avril’s Walks & Talks to bring Black History alive by organising 3 Black History Tours across London. There are only 20 spaces available for each walk. So, get your tickets early.
Thursday 30th October from 2pm: Brixton Walk
This walk looks at the tumultuous history of Brixton, south London.
Taking in Windrush Square, the famous market (and some places within the market), the murals, the sculptures, and the Black Cultural Archives (BCA), this 2 hour walk looks at all aspects of Brixton life, including:
- The memorial dedicated to the woman that sparked the 1981 Brixton riots
- Some of the amazing murals in the area
- The Black Cultural Archives
- The memorial to the Soweto Massacre which took place in South Africa in 1976 and much more.
Meeting Point: Outside Brixton Underground Station
Prices
ECA Member early bird price is £15. Non-members early price is £17. One week before the walking date the price rises to £17 for ECA members and £20 for non-members (if any tickets remain available)
