Directors and volunteers at Velora Autism Corner CIC
Velora Autism Corner (VAC) was founded by Velora Levy Sailsman due to her own personal experience when she discovered her son, at the age of two years may have autism and needed to be assessed. As a result of this, her whole life was turned upside down and she found herself leaning onto her teaching experience and her training and knowledge in special educational needs.
Are you passionate about supporting families and young people with autism? Velora Autism Corner (VAC), a Community Interest Company, is seeking dedicated directors and volunteers who are committed to making a real difference. We are looking forward for individuals, especially those with secondary school-aged children, to help grow our organisation and further mission of supporting autistic young people aged 11 to 25.
VAC’s mission is to be the first and central point of contact for parents, social workers and health workers. Providing one to one support on an individualised request and the integral support required especially when a child is first assessed.
AT VAC, we provide a range of programmes aimed at bridging learning gaps, fostering independence, and offering emotional and practical support to both families and autistic individuals. We are calling for sincere, compassionate volunteers and directors to help recruit ASD families and enabler us to expand our services, including youth clubs, holiday schemes, home help and reading recovery programmes.
If you are driven, community-focused, and eager to contribute to an inclusive and supportive environment for autistic young people, join us at Velora Autism Corner. Your involvement will empower families and help our organisation flourish.
