Black Healthcare Awards 2024

On Saturday 27th July 2024 I was invited to attend the prestigious Black Healthcare Awards at Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge Road. The event was organised by the Caribbean and African Health Network (CAHN). The purpose of the awards is to raise awareness and celebrate the achievements of Black Healthcare professionals from across all corners of the United Kingdom.

The event highlighted the passion, energy, quality and determination of the black community to deliver excellence. The event was organised by Dr Faye ruddock the founding Chair of CAHN and Rev Canon Charles Kwak-Odoi the chief executive of CAHN and hosted by Hannah Awonuga Group Head of Diversity for Frank Knight.
One of the panel of judges included our very own patron Professor Patrick Vernon OBE and our ex-Chairs son Marcus Riddell.

I was seated with the Inspire team who led the amazing Health Summit in March of this year. The categories included cardiologist of the Year, Clinician of the Year. Our very own Dr Julie Hammond a lead member of the Inspire group, won the award for Primary Care Practice Professional.

We had an excellent 3 course meal and were entertained by Ann-Marie Lataille Band and the African dance group 1U The Magnificent. The evening ended with dancing to music of DJ Eagles Entertainment.

Well done CAHN.
