Bonnie Greer was a charismatic, intelligent and dynamic woman who we were delighted to welcome to ECA. We had seen Bonnie Greer as a regular on Question Time and invited her to be a speaker on our panel at our BHM event in 2021 entitled The History of Black Activism in the UK. We were overjoyed when she agreed to join our impressive panel of speakers including Sir Geoff Palmer, Leroy Logan, Kwame Kwei Armagh and Delia Mattis (Black Lives Matter).
The contributions by each of the speakers were very powerful and compelling. Bonnie identified strongly with the activism in Britain. She drew parallels between the African Caribbean experience in Britain to that of African Americans in the USA.
The following year we invited Bonnie to join us for our Black History month event Black Women untold Stories. She spoke of the unknown women who had led in the fight for equality such as Claudia Jones and Olive Morris. She had a wealth of knowledge. She kept in touch with ECA and supported what we were doing for the Black Community in Enfield.
She will be remembered for her contribution to human rights, equality and justice.
May our dear friend Rest in peace.

Chair ECA
